John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado who specialized in folk pop music has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and moved to Aspen. A few traveled towards Colorado after hearing Denver's popular anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declares that John Denver is unlike any other performer who has the recognizable image of Colorado. In 2011 Denver was named the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. He is now the symbol of Colorado for people worldwide. In my journeys, you meet someone from the other end of the planet, or someone from New Zealand and you say 'I'm of Colorado and the first word that comes that comes out of their mouths is Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short time in folk-based group was Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff was credited with Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the tune, however Denver recognized that the song could be a huge hit after the song was first heard by him. Just a few days after performing to an excited audience in Washington D.C., the singer recorded this song.
